Minimum Requirements: Bachelors degree in related area Four (4) years experience in higher education, federal government, state government or industry working as a grant writer in the related grant field. Extensive, highly related, demonstrated success in obtaining local, state and/or federal grants/contracts. Experience in researching, developing and writing proposals to government and private funding sources including development of curriculum/programs, budgets and budget narrative timelines and job descriptions Must be experienced and accomplished in researching, developing and maintaining internal and external working relationships and must have the ability to work collaboratively. Excellent written and verbal communication, organizational and interpersonal skills. Excellent computer skills. Good working knowledge of grant development and management process. Ability to work in a team environment and manage multiple task/projects simultaneously.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience in Public Safety, Law Enforcement, Homeland Security and/or Emergency Management with emphasis in either federal agency or military contracting preferred with a good working knowledge of the federal grant proposal process.
Hiring Range: $46,671.43 - $57,172.50 (Restricted Funds/Grant)

Job Responsibilities: This newly created full time position supports ongoing grant-making and grants management needs for Allegany Franciscan Ministries’ central and regional offices. Responsible for quality assurance of grant records in paper files and grant database. Supports all grant-making activities, including receipt and processing of applications and grant reports, preparation of grant agreements and communication with grantees. Prepares grant reports for Board, publications and Web site. Reconciles grant records with accounting. Reviews and enters grantee reports into database. Provides database and grant management training for other staff as needed. Reports to Director of Grant Programs; coordinates with and supports regional vice presidents.
Knowledge and Skills: Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and other database software; experience with grant management software; experience in project management with an ability to handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines; strong organizational skills with an orientation to detail; and strong oral and written communication skills.
